Cats in the Community

LYFS is committed to academics and is active in putting those words to work with our comprehenisive scholarship program.

LYFS participates & contributes annually to the NHYFSC Academic Achievement Awards. In 2008 & 2009 nearly 60 Wildcat student atheletes have been awarded Gold, Silver or Bronze levels (all A students) at awards reception. Furthermore, we have been proud to present several scholarships as result.

In 2010, we expanded the program to fund and support what will be an annual LYFS Academic Achievement Award and presented two $500 youth scholarships.

The final component is the annual LYFS Londonderry High School Scholarship Program which in 2010 will award Ten (10) scholarships $500 for a total of $5,000 in the memory of Warner Hale (Panthers) and Chris Fitzpatrick (Jr. Lancers) partially pre-funded annually by our annual golf tourney in the perpetual memory of Alex Lyskawa (Panther & Wildcat).

LYFS - Project P.L.A.Y. :

LYFS supported the efforts of Project P.L.A.Y. in Londonderry through a portion of our 2007 Golf Scramble event. This resulted in over $3,000 to Project P.L.A.Y. and sponsorship of a picket fence. The project and support of LYFS benefits the youth throughout Londonderry.

Operation Bernadette:

LYFS participated in a football community wide project to give a helping hand to a deserving Londonderry single mom and family. The project overhauled a home and enabled the family to be excited again about coming home.

Welcome To Londonderry:

LYFS is proud to be a sponsor of our great town in the "Welcome To Londonderry" signs that are now planted for years to come to welcome visitors, newcomers & residents home to Londonderry.

Sonshine Soup Kitchen of Derry:

LYFS has held several coat/mitten drive's and canned goods drive in conjunction with youth dances for donation to the Sonshine Soup Kitchen of Derry.

Warm Homes:

LYFS raised $200 for Warm Homes at the 2009 Auction Dinner in a 50/50 raffle to help this great program here in Londonderry for those in need of heating assistance in these difficult economic times.

Town of Londonderry, LHS & Youth Recreation Infrastructure:

LYFS has participated in time, dollars & effort to support several projects throughout Londonderry. LYFS has partnered with the Town & School district in several large projects, such as the land donated by the Londonderry Panthers near LHS now called "Panther Park". The adjacent parking lot was built and the lights erected and donated by LYFS. The Press Box and Goal Posts among other items at Lancer Field (LHS) were donated by LYFS.

Londonderry High School Football Gridiron Club:

LYFS is an annual contributor/supporter to the LHS football Gridiron Club. We proudly partner with the club that supports our High School Football program in our town in teaching, training and coaching via our feeder program to LHS.

Londonderry High School Cheer Squad:
LYFS is an annual contributor/supporter to the LHS Cheer squads. Working with the teams that currently and in the future will hold several graduated Wildcat members.

Helping Hands Around the League:

LYFS and the LYFS Board & Membership continually step up to help when situations of misfortune or opportunities occur. In the last year we have lent a helping hand to each the AYF & NEJHFL programs of Mill City & Derry. Each have been subject to unfortunate fires and we have supported the Black Mountain Bobcats in establishing their new program in 2008.
